How do I determine my hat size?

You're hat size is determined by the circumference of your head, so you will need to first take that measurement. Use a flexible tape measure (often called sewing tape or a tailor's tape) to measure the length around your head, running the tape from the center of the forehead approximately one-half inch above the eyebrows and one-half inch above the ears.

Ensure that the tape measure is straight and not twisted and that it is not pulled too tight around the head. Take the measurement where the tape crosses at the center of the forehead.

If you are measuring in inches, round up to the nearest 1/8 inch. If you are measuring in centimeters, round up to the nearest whole centimeter. Use this measurement in the Mindo Hats size guides to determine the appropriate size.

Why aren't all Mindo Hats sized the same?

We put a lot of effort in the design phase to ensure consistent sizes across styles and materials. Sometimes it's just not possible. The crown size and material often has a direct impact on how the hat is sized.

Mindo straw hats are shaped on a hat block specifically designed for each style of hat. Each style of hat has its own unique block. Hats with larger crowns, such as a bell shaped crown, are by necessity shaped on blocks that tend to run larger than those with tear drop or center dent crowns.

My hat size is not available. Can I get it custom ordered?

We want everyone to find the perfect hat for their head!
